Excellent place to eat after a long day on the road and especially for smoked meats. Food was great and the staff were very friendly and met my specific request.
Had a chance to chat with the owner and was impressed by her passion and desire to own a business and make a difference in her community while giving others opportunities as well.
They had run out of brisket, because it's so popular, and when I told her I was disappointed she went and cut a piece off of the brisket she was cooking and it was amazing.
Great outdoor atmosphere and would highly recommend you stop by and visit.

The best Mexican around Mn, no question. The food is over the top wonderful! She will go out of her way to take care of you. Being short staffed and struggling to find wait staff, they still do an amazing job!
We read about this Albany restaurant but couldn't visually locate it. Google finally helped us...you really need signage other than the small "Open" sign in the window!!!
Staff were very busy but hospitable. We drank beers at the bar while waiting for a half rack to go. Food arrived very quickly and I must state that the price was very reasonable ($10). They were dry rub, meaty and tasty. We would have appreciated an option of sauce on the side. We'd return if we were ever in the area again! .

The atmosphere is nice and inviting. A nice choice of drinks to meet your needs for the night. The menu has plenty of options but the dishes need seasoning. The homemade salsa was bland as was the dishes we ate. If the taste was greatly improved, this could be a definite 4-5 star establishment.
Great find in a small town! For some reason, BBQ smoked meats + Mexican food + handmade pizza = deliciousness. Also, drinks made by a legitimate bartender who knows how to make a true margarita from scratch.
So delicious! This place is such a gem of a find and I highly suggest to everyone when they ask about somewhere place to eat in Albany. I was never at Barbacoa before the remodel but the decor had a very cozy feel and I really like it. There is also an outdoor seating area with quite a few tables. Would be a great place for music. The smoked meat is so tasty and moist and great in tacos and quesadilla.
Great place . Wonderful service. Accommodating to kids and adults. Food was came out quickly and hot. Large portions. Will be back.
